What is Vaginismus
Vaginismus is a vaginal tightness causing penetration problems or inability to have sexual intercourse. The impact on vaginismus on a women can be huge and may cause fear of sex, painful sex or relationship problems.
Vaginismus can make sex difficult or impossible as it causes the muscles around the vagina to tighten involuntarily when penetration is attempted.
Vaginismus impacts woman in varying degrees, some are never physcially able to have intercourse, for others Vaginismus develops later in life making sex difficult, painful or impossible.
It's difficult to stop the symtoms as it completely involuntary. It is the body's way of coping and experience pain, the vaginal muscles tighten as a protection against pain when the body is expecting pentration.
What causes vaginismus
There are many causes for vaginismus which may be an unpleasant sexual experience or first painful sexual encounter, guiltly feelings associated with sex which may be related to religious reasons or family's strict upbringing.
For some women who have experienced sexual abuse, rape or a traumatic experience impacts the way you see and experience sex and Linda will help you heal your emotional state and body to help you feel calmer and more relaxed with sex and your sexual identity.
